Amazing work to be jealous of.

My friend, my peer, my fellow ceramicist Jessie Rienerth recently did this installation at our mid-quarter show. A lot of her work is what I would consider, and I believe she would agree is obsessive process work. She made the circular pieces out of porcelain slabs that she poked with a tiny tool over and over and over and over again until the pattern was done, and the porcelain was so thin that light came through them.  She installed them with fishing line which I’m often not a fan of, but I think it works here and the vertical lines it creates look good.  The little copper fasteners she hand coiled.  The whole thing is pretty labor intensive.

Jessie has more of her work up on her blog.  Everybody should check it out, there’s some pretty incredible stuff.
